On our way East out of Reno we ran into some thunder storms and super heavy rain. Winding through several passes, everyone started to get hungry. So, we figured we would stop somewhere around Austin, NV to get gas and pull over for dinner.
As we started up the hill into Austin Lanie saw a castle on one of the hills we were driving by. After getting some gas and looking it up, we learned it was called Stokes Castle. It was built by hand in the late 1800’s by Anson Stokes as a summer home.
We decided to head to Stokes Castle for to make our dinner. The kids had a blast admiring the castle, the view, and having some time outside before getting back into the van.
We also heard some owls.
Back to the van for a late night drive.
